"So, Mama..do you know why the mushroom got invited to all of the parties???? 'Cuz he was a fungi! Hahahahahahahhaa...Aren't I a hoot??? You should put that in your notebook..just sayin' and such..."
Would you expect any less at this point on a Thursday night from two gals on the west side whom have spent a majority of their time with spreadsheets....we take the 'humor' when opportunity knocks...and right about now...opportunity is the only thing knocking on our door..shhh....BTW, where is that cute airplane guy???? OR my CSJ???? As I digress...dinner...Again, I know better than to make pasta..it does NOT photograph well..and the odds were already against me, as I had ghetto-cam on my 'side.' Just so you know...It was way better than it looked..like me, one might say..hahahaha...that was just my terrible sense of humor..and, perhaps true...you be the judge...don't listen to a word I say...the screams all sound the same...
Dinner Components: Chicken, Flour, Parsley, Garlic, Mushrooms, Onion, Butter, Cream, Sherry, Olive Oil, Egg and Cream Cheese...
Proceed to chop stuff up..it does a body good..like milk! hahahahaha..JK..I HATE milk, unless it's in cereal...ick!!! And don't even get me started on White Russians...OMG..I shall spare you the gory details as I am a thoughtful kinda gal...Where were we???? Hmmm...yes...chopping stuff is FUN..get it??? We are young!!
Once you've chopped and such, dredge your chicken breast (which has been beaten and flattened...that part was totes fun, BTW....) in egg and flour..the man hand was dying to be part of the blog...in addition to being kind, I am accommodating as well...I am helpful, willing, obliging, cooperative, compliant and accepting..hahahaha...not really, ask anyone...
Brown your dredged chicken breast in butter and olive oil..on the stovetop...it is a tad on the messy side, however, it is worth every minute...I believe it was 4-5 minutes per side...I lost track of time about six hours ago...I blame Green Day...it's totally Billie Joe's fault...yup...shhhhh.....
"Ya know, Mama...I am one of a kind! AND did you know why the Fungi left the party???? Because there wasn't mushroom...hahahahahahahaha...I'm in stitches over here...hahahahahahahaha...get it????? Can someone carry us home tonight???? I can hear the choir..."
Once the chicken has been cooked..remove and place in a warm oven where it can sorta 'hang out' while you finish dinner...yeah...we did finish this train-wreck if you can believe it...add a bit more olive oil to the pan and then some sliced garlic...saute away...shake some bootie, too...Hey Soul Sister...and Hey, Blaine...call me!!!! He is a sweet moonbeam....
Oh, dear...we have gotten so way off track...focusing is at the top of our list...yup...I swear..Add sherry...
Add mushrooms.....and saute a little more...I told you we were gonna focus a little more...Then add some cream and cream cheese...none of those photos worked out...they were bad...and not in the good bad way....
Angel hair pasta was also cooked...I didn't take any photos...I spared you the pain of such things...you can personally thank me later...add your pasta and a bit of the pasta H20 to the mushroom mixture...stir to combine...
"Oh, Mama...that Blaine blows my mind..does he know Pierre??? And where is dinner???? So a mushroom walks into a bar...hahahahaha..I'll stop....I'm tired, and quite frankly over puns for awhile...."
Chicken with Pasta and Mushrooms
I did top with some parsley, in a feeble attempt to jazz up the color, so to speak...much to my disappointment, it didn't seem to really work out in my favor...but, again..what does??? hahahaha..again, I kid...maybe...but it was delicious and comforting and I could go on an on...however, I shall refrain...I can't help myself!
Well, my internet friends...we shall say goodnight...It's been a long, long..loooooong week..and a long time since I've seen your smiling face...it's been a long time since you gave me butterflies...it's been a long time since we've enjoyed Cake!!! Tomorrow we have our work luncheon..and E.V. and I get to make a trip into the big city...things will never be the same...I can just sense it..my nose is twitching and such...AND we get to wear our super-cool new boots...which I may have to debut tomorrow...one can never have too many pairs of boots...for reals..I read that on the underside of a Snapple iced-tea lid...it's like fortune cookie, Confucius advice..you can't go wrong...well, maybe..but...no..you can't...sweet dreams and see all y'all tomorrow.....
