Where It Began...I Can't Begin To Know...

Yup...I do NOT know how it began...but I do know that I like it..quite a bit in fact...today, my friends...has been quite a spectacular day...especially considering it IS a Monday...Fantabulous, one might even say...and then I almost went on to be Miss Texas....But I was too tall..it is Texas and such..hahhahah...AND I was almost famous for almost a day...and I almost forgot to say something else...But, as you know...I never forget to say anything...hahahaha...It's my big mouth...shhhhhhhhhh.....But I certainly did not forget to listen to a certain super-cute guy from Glee...repeatedly..

"Ahhh...yes..Mama...You have the BIGGEST mouth..and trust me, when I say this...you never, EVER forget to say anything...OMG...is that Puck????  Turn it up!!!!!  Rock on, Mama...Rock on..."

I really do appreciate her enthusiasm...it's taken quite a bit of time to train her..again, much like her Mama...total WIP....aren't we all, I suppose..We cooked real food tonight...and it actually turned out and we also hung out with my new find, she is a friend as well.. from The Fred Meyer...

Meet Caroline...She is Sweet...tisk-tisk...no...for reals she is..however, I won't lie to you...rather boring in comparison to pigs with purple gingham underpants...we did have a little fun...she CAN do keg stands...I promised her I would not publish those photos...We all know I am extremely courteous in that regard...yup...Nah...we struck a deal...she promised not to show the pictures of me in return...hahahahaahahaha....

SO..ummm, yeah...we should probably move along...

"Yeah, Mama...get your boot-wearing, sorry butt into the kitchen and make me some dinner...and make it snappy..."

Anyhoo...chicken and dumplings...Yup...It really was rather delicious..and comforting...after peanut butter toast, one needs a little sustenance...to go along with that martini and such...and the keg stands...hahahaha and throw in a tee-hee...

Chicken....Zip It...At least it was free range...hahahahaha...Which did come first...the chicken or the egg.....Does that not evoke the question of how life and the universe began in general???  Or is it just me with tooo much free time to think...hahahahaa...again, this drama...total hoot..but then again I'm a sucker for circular cause and consequence...well, um, that and Puck and Green Day and knee socks..and...need I go on????

Proceed to roast your chicken in the oven...While that roasts, move along to the other soup components...

Leeks, Onion, Shallot, Garlic, Carrot, Parsley and Chicken Stock...please..pretty please...don't judge..it is a Monday..I had zero time to make my own stock...I had to improvise...shhhhhhhhhh....At least Caroline liked my stock..hahahahahahaha..It was probably all of those keg stands she's done thus far..she probably totally had beer goggles...hahahahaha....not that I know a thing about those...nope...nada..

The world's BEST part of the evening...I'm rather certain that chopping vegetables is one of the new Olympic sports...I shall be the front-runner in next year's competition...You can dice and mince and slice and...you know where this is going...SHAKE a little bootie!  The absolute best part of your evening..yeah...we're that lame...but it is a total hoot!!  Thank YOU Bowling For Soup...oh, and Castaway and Fashion Victim.....I was a victim of my own time..I grew up in a very unforgiving era...clothing wise, that is...hahahahahahaa...no, I did..for reals!  I have photographic evidence...Yikes!  hahahaha...

We then get to do our second favorite thing..and it is NOT what you're thinking so keep quite...it's to saute..in our dutch oven...the one that is rather righteous...so righteous that I'm super-excited....shhhhhhhhhhhhhh...maybe it's not really the dutch oven...just the thought of Puck reaching out and touching me...hahahahaha...I'll bet that's it!  Good times...good times....

Add your stock..I really liked this photo..In addition to my automobile photography, I have been working on 'action' shots, so to speak...of the culinary variety...I liked the little droplets free falling...not too bad for a multi-tasking shot...WIP...yup...

Time to add Parsley..The focal point of your evening..hahahahahaha...it does accentuate the positive...eliminate the negative...tisk-tisk..it's pain free....provided your fingers escape and avoid that knife...it was merely a two band-aid night...that's good in my book...hahahahahaha..and quite rare..

Now, while all of that mingles and melds and hangs out together for a bit...we need to make dumplings..now..I have made rivels...never dumplings...I really thought they'd be similiar...maybe the rivel thing is more Pennsylvania....I'm sure The Google could tell me...but I'm just too tired to look it up...Oh, and they were in a certain respect like a rivel..but a little less forgiving...you'll see...

Flour, Corn Meal, Cream, Salt, Baking Powder..and Caroline....who's just along for the ride...

Mix it all up...Listen to a little Rain Dance Maggie...Perfect Bootie shaking music...your neighbors will thank you...trust me...Then a little Cake...Long Time...Yup...Rocks and rocks...

Drop dumplings into your soup...simmer...20 minutes or so...don't stir and such..again, these dumplings are a little more sensitive than rivels..stir too much..and you won't have any dumplings...I do speak from experience..

"Oh, me..oh my..Mama...did I mention how much I love, love, love cleaning these dishes..."  She is precious!!

She totally is the expert in the dish cleaning department...I, am not..I can put them in the dishwasher and hit a button..the rest is a mystery to me...for valid reasons...we allowed the dumplings to simmer...and eventually we ate!  Not the greatest plating of food in the world...but it was really very, very good...exactly what I was needing...well, that and a date with a cute boy..but, I'll settle for chicken and dumplings on a Monday night....shhh....

One of my favorite meals...I know it's sooo comfort-foody and such...but I did like this quite a bit...ate way too much...my yoga pants forgive me...hahahahaha...the rest of my wardrobe, not so much...oh, well...not that I do yoga...I just like the pants..shhhh..

Hey now...we've got to make it rain some how...hey now...it's in the song...girl..today has been super-awesome...and I am rather certain there is an adjective which would better describe these events..however, for once, I am at a loss..Yeah...that never happens, I know..No return...no looking back or down..I'm on a mission...destination unknown....go make chicken and dumplings...Listen to...ahhhhhhhh...you know the answer....I always wanted to  be a conscientious objector, but that's really not an option...I just really like that word...conscientious...it's sooo long!  Feel free to think...it does a body good...I almost wish a million things....I don't care if you don't mind...I'll be there..not far behind...I'll be there for you...have a wonderful evening..we'll be back tomorrow...I will be experimenting with a recipe, based on the suggestion of a very super-awesome follower...it shall be quite the adventure...just wait and see!  Winkety-wink...my friends...Sweet Caroline...good times never seemed so good!
