Easy like Sunday Morning...

Ahhh, I love, love, love the You Tube!!!  Faith No More...Mr. Bungle...Tomahawk. Vanity Fair, Epic...I started a joke....  Mike Patton, I would totally marry you...but only if you begged..tisk-tisk.. He would obviously be in line behind Billie Joe...oh...yeah, baby.. I have completely, and absolutely digressed..But he is awfully cute..kinda, sorta, maybe like chainsaw jugglers...shall we transition into reality...It's a struggle..I'm a work in progress...I have never lied about such things...Our day was actually about squishing things..Yep...For reals...I never thought there would be an entire day devoted to squishing...but it has come to fruition..

"Mama..I want fingernails that shine like justice...And for you to keep quite...just for a few minutes....."

Back to the squishing of things..Dinner was filled with previously aforementioned activitites (squishing)...and then there was my experience (being squished)...I cleaned and did laundry..Felt it necessary to wash the bed skirt.  Firstly, beds do not deserve skirts..secondly...attempting to move a mattress under which said skirt lies is just a bad idea in general, hence the squishing...I managed to find myself pinned underneath the mattress and squished against the closet...wrestling with this mattress was not one I had longed to wrestle...I'm done with bed skirts...not CSJ's, but bed skirts fo'sho'! I would glady wrestle a CSJ...In case anyone was curious...I'm ALWAYS curious..

"Yeah, Mama..That was ugly...Unfortunate for you..  Too bad that chainsaw juggler wasn't around..just sayin'"

We made Cuban Sandwiches, Tostones and Banana Ketchup...Can I getta yum??!?!?!?!

I roasted the remaining pork...one of my better ideas...Shocking, I know....Hmmmm was it the idea I had or the fact said idea was better than the rest???  Conundrum, my friends..

Pork Tenderloin... 350 degree oven, 25 minutes, no regrets...

E.V. quite enjoyed the leftover pan...she's a sneak..totally...like her mama ;-)

Here are the components to creating a Cuban sandwich...

Pickles, Ham, Cheese, Mustard and Pork..Oh, and bread...which failed to show for the
picture...No worries...I lost no sleep...nor did anyone else...
However, a sandwich is not a sandwich without bread..cryptic, no??  profound...no???  Bumper sticker potential, yes!!  hahahahahahaha

Assembly of a Cuban sandwich...prior to being squished...I almost feel as though we should have a cigar and such...  It is toasted in a pan...pannini style, hence the squishing process..

To accompany the sandwich, I fried plantains...aka tostones..they rhyme with so many other things...but I promise to focus...shall I debut the simple, yet delicious ingredients. Out of the mouth of a simple and delicious gal.. hahahahahahah..sorry..couldn't help myself..WIP, my friends...WIP...

Oil and Plantains....It does not get much simpler than that...well, except for......
They are fried, in a Skillet of Justice, if you are so fortunate to own your own.. teehee...Once fried, you squish and then re-fry...we're all about squishing around here tonight...

And here is what they did look like frying...in the SOJ...I still can't figure out which is hottest..SOJ, Mike Patton, Plaintains or the chainsaw juggler...Hmmmm...chainsaw juggler wins...hands down, in fact!  ..mmmmm

We absolutely cannot forget banana ketchup...now this is not Pambiche...but they are the greatest Cuban restaurant around...however I did make some banana ketchup for the tostones...

Banana, soy sauce, nutmeg, tomato paste, garlic, vinegar, brown sugar and cayenne...the Ghetto version...I had no raisins...or allspice..however, it was rather tasty...

Allow all ingredients to simmer on your stovetop...you will not be sorry....

Once everything came together...we, again, created a meal..wonders never cease to amaze....

Dinner...

"Mama...I am sorry you were squished..and I'm glad everything else was squished...it was tastier!  Is that even a word?????"

It has been a long evening...I should say good night already....Tomorrow is another day....See you all then..Winkety-wink...my friends...
