On our journey in the big city...our trip into the great unknown...returning home from the east side of town...we got stuck on the bridge..
Twenty minutes..sitting in the blistering sun, in a black sundress without air conditioning...after drinking six gallons of water...Thankfully we had music...and my camera for entertainment...And Space Cowboy on the radio...I felt like I was 25 again...and sitting in a smokey bar...ahhhh....
"Mama...I tawt I taw a puddy tat...bad ol' puddy tat!" Don't mind her...it was the sun...heat exhaustion...she couldn't help herself...not to mention, we were stuck in the car together for a very long period of time...it does things...weird things..and I had been singing...yep...shhhhhhh...
Prior to our luncheon in the big city...we did run a few errands...You can ALL breathe a gigantic sigh of relief....I have replaced my fangs...I have had the new pair in my possession for almost eleven hours and they haven't even been lost...nope...not once..I've been wearing them for at least nine of those eleven hours..shhhhh...they're just so super-duper cool...and they glow in the dark...I also picked up some tattoos...
See??? Hardcore, no?? That's how ninjas roll over on the west side...I know a chainsaw juggler who may be inclined to agree...he is an expert in the area of tattoos, so to speak...Well, that and super-smart...trust me...I know my stuff...
Alright...I have rambled on long enough...I blame the gigantic bag of candy I purchased when I picked up new fangs and tattoos...I ate a very large portion...although it is for the 'trick or treaters'...yep, totally, absolutely...I probably won't have another piece...hahahahhahaha...the bag should be gone by morning...along with my figure and self esteem.I just cannot resist the chocolate...One day at a time, I say...as does Jimmy Pop...Regardless...we did cook!
I had a lot going on this evening....I will say, I am an excellent multi-tasker...that is a good thing..otherwise we would be having Hawaiian Punch and potato chips for dinner...Fortunately we had some real food...riddle me that, huh...Speaking of riddles...Again...I will focus...we had salmon...I KNOW..FINALLY, right?? I also made spaetzle, succotash and a dill/caper/cream sauce...It IS Friday night..and my only date prospect appeared to be one of the skeletons hanging in my kitchen..I already have too many of those in my closet...tisk-tisk....so I was not interested...besides...there is that chainsaw juggler...who is much more charming...and an expert in a plethora of fields....
"Oh, Mama....I believe those tattoos have gone to your head...AND no more candy...we have business which we need to attend...pay attention....your mind is wandering...Do I need to have a 'talk' with a certain chainsaw juggler??? And if I catch you two behind the Gym one more time...that's it! You'll be grounded!"
Yep...alright...here are the compenents to the spaetzle...
Flour, egg, cream, herbs and nutmeg...
You then mix all of the above ingredients in a bowl....lucky you!!
Woo and freaking Hoo...This is how caped crusaders party on the west side...only on Friday nights, mind you...we're on the verge of....teehee...keg stands come next..we may even ripthe tag off our mattress...we're outta control!
Once you mix your dough, you drop into boiling water...I did have a photo of this step, however, it was pretty crummy..Eddie Haskell crummy...so I could not bring myself to post the photo...But, I did complete that step and once that was finished, I sauteed the spaetzle in a little butter...
No doubt, and with certainty...the ...drumroll please....Skillet of Justice... (insert the voice of James Earl Jones for this introduction...otherwise...there is nothing memorable with the previously aforementioned introduction...) We fried up the spaetzle...I lost focus again..I blame tattoos and chainsaw jugglers...dangerous combination IMHO...merely an observation...
To accompany the spaetzle...I prepared salmon..under the broiler since I do not possess a grill..and made a sauce consisting of capers, cream cheese, dill, garlic, butter and cream.
Here is the sauce for our salmon....isn't it cute??? Not to mention yummy....hmmmmmm, it causes my mind to wander...chainsaw jugglers..hmmm
Go Go Gadget Dill Cream Sauce Finder...Wowsers!
The vegetable..simple and toasted...hahahahahhahaha...again...I always vow not to compare myself to the meal, but...I can't help it...Again, this digression affliction...
KISS with a SWAK and a TTYL and a BRB and a F2F and a B2B and a 2Good2B4gotten and a JK and a LMAO and an SHP and this should all occur ASAP....hahahahah...WIP, my friends....total WIP...Where was I...OH, corn and lima beans..a match made in heaven..maybe, kinda, sorta like an MT and a TG......
I Did have a photo of the broiled succotash...but it has disappeared...I blame the smurf..again!
"So, my precious, Mama...you plan on sharing with a certain E.V.???"
She is such a mooch...and is only nice when I have food....We did finally eat...if you can believe it...
I liked it...quite a bit, in fact...
It does not compare to chainsaw jugglers or fake tattoos or butterflies or the bag of Halloween Candy I have in my kitchen, or my glow-in-the-dark fangs, or the Bloodhound Gang, or E.V. or my skeleton garland...but...it worked..it tasted spectacular...hmmm...and we will be returning tomorrow...we're kinda, sorta like heart-burn...we don't exactly go away....
