Yes. There was a point to my neglectfullness. I had an excuse for such neglection. I am full of them. Excuses that is, and I always have one. I am no Boy Scout (a Brownie actually, if you want to get technical about it all. I am no Girl Scout.), but I know to always be prepared! I have a compass, tweezers and lip gloss in my possession at all times (there's nothing worse than unkempt eyebrows...so unbecoming). I am all set. Anyway, I've had some distractions and writer's block. Upon review of my situation, I believe I prefer distractions as opposed to writer's block, but distractions can also help rid one of writer's block. Merely an observation. I do not speak from experience.
"Oh, Mama...just shut up and cook already. I'm hungry and sick of listening to you gab on and on and on...What is wrong with you?!?"
My distractions are a bit of embellishment...maybe, maybe not. We're here alone in this apartment and I can count the exciting times we've had on my right hand...and I have only five fingers so you see where this point is going. Example...today's exciting catastrophe... (this one doesn't count, in case you were wondering) Can you handle this?? I wore two different colored flip-flops all day. Not on purpose, of course. But because..well, you know.. I couldn't quite figure out why one leg seemed to be slightly longer than the other. Then I looked down and discovered one flip-flop was brown and one was black. (they're the same brand). It was at that point I realized I should erase the 'attention to detail' quality from my resume. I've also been caught up in 'Long Time' by Cake. I am no Cake fan....neither the band nor the enriched baked dessert. However, that song is infectious! My neighbors continue to hate me.... Thank you You Tube!!
I should probably stop talking now..before I create even more enemies. I cooked. Which is basically why I am here. I think.
Here is the first photograph of dinner...
Caramelized Green Beans, Steak with Pan Sauce and a Potato Terrine
It really tasted quite delicious. However, something is off with the plating. I worked on the rearrangement until the food was cold. Not that it matters. Having become a blogger, I never eat anything when it's warm. I took another photograph hoping to figure out the problem...
But, nope...it still doesn't look quite right. It's missing garnish or something.
I just can't seem to put my finger on the problem with this plate. Eventually I will figure it out. I have always been a slow learner. I will not rest until I have solved the problem!
I should delve into a discussion about the terrine (it's technically one...but then again sorta not). since this is a cooking blog and it was easy to make and super yum (except for the slicing of potatoes, although I still have all ten fingers, which is saying something since I am a walking disaster when knives are involved)...however I am unable to at this time.
I thank you for joining us this evening... E.V. preferred hiding in the usual spots. I preferred to be random and mysterious...'cause that's how I typically roll! NOT! Have a nice evening.
