"Mama...will you join me on the couch...it is sooo comfy!"
E.V. and I were quite productive today! Who wouldn't be after that much sleep? We took a mature turn for the better after last evening, being all responsible and stuff. It's just not quite as fun, is it? At least the apartment is clean and laundry is finished. The car would be much happier, but it appears as though every single car owner in the Portland-metro area felt the need to wash a car. Oh, well...there's always tomorrow.
Oh, I have a helpful household tip which I feel the need to share... Shall I present my greatest invention yet....
The Portland 'Iron'
This is how you get the crease out of hem-lines on wrinkled shorts...however, you shouldn't be in eager to wear said article of clothing, it requires 24 hours of being squished by a tremendously heavy object. I am filled with helpful household hints! Like you didn't already know that though! I'm like the Bear Grylls of apartment living! BTW..you can fix absolutely anything with Gorilla glue or duct tape. I speak from experience. Experience people...
As for being productive, we walked the Ash Creek Trail. E.V. loved it! There were tons of things to sniff!!
"Quit staring at me, Mama...I just wanna sniff some trees and leaves and plants and stuff....I don't need the pressure."
I backed off as any reasonable individual would do and we headed home where I began my dinner prep. It involved mayonnaise, and lots of it.....she was happy to clean out the empty container for recycling. She is SO Portland! hahahaha
"Mama, mayo is sooo great! Look at what a great job I did of making it super-clean!'
Now I did not take before photos of the un-cooked food. They didn't warrant the attention... A raw potato is just that...raw and unattractive...as is crab... however the final meal was quite delicious! Oh well, It's really, real food. You can't beat that!
Dungeness crab cakes with spicy mustard aioli, Old Bay roasted potato wedges and slaw.
Doesn't the mini Lodge skillet just melt your heart???!!!??? It did mine...so precious!!!
I had every intention of eating earlier..so by the time I was finished, I was losing daylight (as you can see from the photo)...So I apoligize. It was all E.V.'s fault. We probably made 37 trips outside. I have no idea why she felt the need. Perhaps if I would have had a dog version of the Stadium Pal, we would have been set. Ever read and or hear the David Sedaris story regarding said Stadium Pal??? If not, totally worth looking into. Absolutely HI-larious, yet he is absolutely HI-larious!
I thank you, readers, for your support..and hope you will tune in tomorrow. We're off for a mature, non-adventurous evening of Entourage...I'm almost done! A bittersweet statement to say the least. Have a terrific evening!
